European Research & Innovation Days – don’t miss the opportunity

Happy Easter to you all!
The COVID-19 pandemic showed us all how much it is crucial to be prepared to face sudden challenges and prevent any future crisis. The war in Ukraine is showing this with even more strength. Planning, and have fit-for-policies, is fundamental to ensure that all the Member States can respond to any upcoming crisis. A lot can be achieved via the EU research programs and by further considering the concept of “health in all policies”. In this, the nurse researchers can have a key role to play.
There has never been a more important time to have nursing research in the EU policy design, and to provide the evidence for shifting from a disease-specific model of thinking, towards a more holistic, continuous, and value-based approach, to co-design a more people, citizen, and patient driven person-centred care system resourced with a highly qualified, motivated and supported nursing workforce.
We can say that investing in research and innovation is investing in Europe’s future. Nursing research is key to ensure that the new solutions are fit-for-purpose and suitable for the end-user/nurses, and that it paves the way for the nursing workforce, running health services on the frontline, to upscale innovation and find new solutions to intractable problems in health and social care.
Wishing you all a happy and blessed Easter!
