Although women constitute 52% of the total EU population, female creativity and entrepreneurial potential are an under-exploited source of economic growth. The main challenges faced by female entrepreneurs are related to access to finance, access to information, access to business partnering networks as well as reconciling business obligations and family life.
The professional fields in which women are more present are health and social work activities, services and education. The nursing profession is a clear example of this trend, where 92% of the workforce is represented by a female composition. Therefore, considered the strong contribution women bring frontline, it is key to ensure a higher participation of women in co-design, and better access to EU funding. The ENRF strongly supports women in research and calls for European research and innovation funding instruments to better integrate female researchers!
