For more than a year now we are all living in a different and challenging reality, and especially our nursing colleagues and frontline professionals. Research has been playing a key role – not only in creating a COVID-19 vaccine, but also in supporting and evaluating nursing innovations. All over Europe, and the world, the key players, including nurses, continue to work hard to overcome this health crisis.
In this very difficult context for all, the ENRF continued its work of setting the future of the EU nursing research, by monitoring the work of the EU Institutions and focussing on integrating nursing research into the EU policy arena, in line with ENRF SORP 2021-2024. Informing the EU policy design, based on existing nursing research, and by engaging nursing researchers, to help to promote the sustainability of European healthcare systems by contributing new knowledge for EU health policies, such as the prevention of disease and the promotion of health is crucial.
But before continuing our research developments and innovations, we all need to take a well-deserved break and recharge batteries. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a restful summer holidays.
